wine gift basket

What kind of wine should I get?

I’m thinking about making wine gift baskets for xmas presents, but i don’t want to get cheap (or too expensive) wine. I want to get 3-4 bottles of different kinds per basket, but what brand would not make me look really cheap and also prevent me from goign broke?

A very nice idea which I am sure will be appreciated…..There are a thousand or more choices of wine in the 10-20 dollar a bottle range. Depending on the number of baskets, most wine stores offer case discounts in the 10-15 percent range which can help keep it affordable.
They are too many to recommend but look to California for “Old Vine Zinfandel’s” which I find complex and interesting. Washington state is also coming around and offering some really good value.
Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Australian……………….
